In Turgleder we have always been concerned with environment conservation. Exploring the environment in a careful and sustainable manner has always been the foundation in all our activities. We have since we established Turgleder been gathering knowledge and inspiration from international ecotourism certification schemes. Therefore it was natural for us to apply for ecotourism certification when the Norwegian certification programme arrived. W e early set a goal for our selves to be among the first 10 businesses in Norway to be certified.

WHAT IS NORWEGIAN ECOTOURISM

Norwegian ecotourism's definition and principals are founded on international principals for eco-tourism and covers international goals for ecotourism recommended by the UN and The International Ecotourism Society.
At the same time Norwegian outdoor traditions, our tourism structure and environmental challenges have contributed in setting the framework for Norwegian ecotourism.
The Norwegian certification scheme also demands high quality on service, hosting, food traditions, story telling and knowledgeable guides. Eco tourism can be found all over the world, however the Norwegian concept is unique due to its focus on the whole business and our outdoor traditions and our traditional use of nature for harvesting and recreation.
We are very proud to be part of the initiative for sustainable tourism.
We know that it commits us and it is with great respect to what Ecotourism Norway represents, to the other businesses in the network and most of all to you as our customer that we use the symbol for Certified Norwegian Ecotourism Business.

Turgleder buys climate certificates to neutralize CO2 emissions from needed transportation connected to our activities. As our customer you will get your share of the climate certificate specified on your invoice according to the emissions from the activity you take part in.
We choose to buy our climate certificates from the Norwegian Pollution Control Authority.
